Don’t be Like the Rest – Pick the Only Way to Get Fit Fast

April 29th, 2012

I want to share with you just how I have been successful in achieving outstanding results with fitness and fat loss with my clients for many years without any fad exercise gadgets or crazy diets. If you really want to find out the only true way to ‘Get Fit Fast’ then read on and I will tell you precisely how to do it, here and now.

First things first, the most important thing you must do to ensure you get fit as fast as you can is to be clear about exactly what you want to get fit for. You must a have a visibly clear goal as to where you want to be. You must remain focused and determined to succeed. How can you expect to get fit if you have no idea where you are heading?

If I ask you this question, it might help you to realize that getting fit fast really does depend on what your own interpretation of fitness is. Do you think you would get fit faster if your goal was to be able to climb 10 flights of stairs without stopping compared with climbing K2, the world’s second highest mountain? Of course you would. The task of climbing 10 flights of stairs is much less of a challenge than climbing K2; therefore if you where training to climb mount K2, you would reach and overtake the desired fitness level to climb the stairs well before you are ready to tackle one of the highest and arguably the most dangerous mountain in the world. Hopefully this has made you realize that ‘fitness’ is an extremely broad term and people must understand that in order to ‘Get Fit Fast’ they must be very specific about what it is they want to achieve.

So back to the original question, How to Get Fit Fast depends greatly up on your current level of base fitness and the desired goal ahead. The next thing to think about is the relevancy of your training. The example above gives two similar goals, in respect that they both involve climbing of sorts. One much more technical and challenging than the other, but the training would be some what similar to start with.

Let’s look at another example; if you compare a Power Lifter with a long distance runner, initially you would say that both are fit. This is correct to say that both are fit for their respective sporting disciplines, however if both were to swap roles, you could say that both would struggle to perform well at each others sports.

These are classic examples of people who are fit for what they do. The training path to reach the desired level of fitness for each sport is completely different. So you need to make sure that the training you do to improve your fitness is relevant to your final goal, otherwise you will never get there.

Take it from me you have to have a very good level of base fitness to succeed at either of these sports. Most people’s idea of a base level of fitness is to enable them to cope with the stresses and strains of their daily lifestyle. This might include, tending the garden, leisure walking, running for the bus and playing with the kids.

To get fit as fast as you can follow these 7 simple steps;

1. Assess where you’re at;
Ask you’re self why you want to get fit. Most people decide to get fit for one of 3 reasons;
a) Improve physical appearance
b) Health reasons or quality of life
c) For a particular sport, challenge or task

Which category do you fall into?

2. Set yourself a goal;
Make sure there is light at the end of the tunnel.
When will you know you have reached your goal? What do you need to do to get there?
If your goal is weight loss, then what is your ideal weight? If you are training for a
specific event, such as a running race, what time or distance do you need to achieve.
If it’s for health reasons, you may wish to reduce your blood pressure or cholesterol.

3. Eat healthy;
Your diet must be specific to your goal and your exercise plan. Make sure you are eating
the right food and at the right times to get the most out of your exercise program.
A poor diet equals low energy and poor performance, ask any successful sports person.
My advice is don’t go on a diet. You’ll just end up hungry, de-motivated and give up.

If weight loss is your goal, then start by making one small but significant change to your
diet every week. For example if you were to cut out 1 tsp of sugar from your 2 cups of tea
or coffee per day, then that’s a saving of 14,500 calories in one year. That amounts to a
loss of over 4lbs of body fat. Do you see where I’m coming from? Small changes can make a big difference when you add them all together.

4. Exercise;
If you are new to exercise and think you don’t have the time, and then make a commitment to start exercising for 5 minutes per day. Do you think you can handle that? Next week, increase it to 10 minutes and so on until you are doing 30 minutes per day. You’ll be amazed how much fitter you are just in that short time.

Choose an exercise activity appropriate to your goal, but make sure it’s a balanced program that covers all the major components of fitness. A balanced exercise program should include; CV training, for aerobic & anaerobic fitness. Resistance training, for muscular endurance, strength and power. Flexibility for range of movement and posture. Balance and coordination.

If you are not sure where to start then consider these;
1. Enjoy what you do
2. Balance your exercise to include CV, Resistance and Flexibility
3. Make your exercise specific to your goal
4. Make it a lifestyle change not a chore
5. Make it challenging, but not impossible

For the best results and to get fitter faster, then consult an exercise professional to
design a program specifically for you.

5. Monitor;
Monitor your progress; it will help to motivate you to stop you losing interest. Once you
see that you are making steady progress towards your goal it will keep you focused.

6. Motivate;
One of the hardest things about starting a new fitness campaign is keeping on track. Try training with a friend or join a club to help keep you interested. Reward yourself every now and then with your favorite meal or treat.

7. Fitness for life;
Don’t just make a commitment to get fit for new year or holiday, make it a lifestyle change. Decide that you are going to make changes for life.

Last but not least if you can get to the point where fitness and healthy living becomes second nature and a natural routine then it’s the unhealthy things that start to become a chore! Remember if you practice anything enough you will do it without thinking about it and this is the state you need to aim for. One day you will come to realize, ‘this fitness stuff isn’t so bad after all’.

Ephedra Supplement For Body Building – The Best Way To Help Your Body Grow Fast

March 10th, 2012

Apparel purchasing can be a very embarrassing situation, especially if your range of choices is limited. This is because not many products coordinate with your waist size. You may have a good height but not as good waistline. Not to worry as there are numerous ways to increase your waistline size. They are well balanced diets, regular exercise, punctual body building habits and last but not the least body building supplements.

The new trend to achieve a perfect body is using body building supplements. The supplements provide the necessary nutrients and minerals which are needed by your muscle to recover after a tough workout. Therefore, strength and agility are maintained. Moreover, good supplements for body building are made up of ingredients like protein, phosphorous, calcium, chloride, manganese, zinc and vitamins.

Before using any body building supplement, it’s advisable to first meet a gym instructor or a physician. Sometimes a few supplements are given by doctors to go along with a specific medication for treating some disease. It’s also quite useful to read a few reviews on the product to know its disadvantages and advantages. Like for example, Ephedra body building supplement.

One of the most controversial supplements in body building ever released is Ephedra. Over 5000 years ago, the Chinese discovered the supplement from a plant called Ma Huang. This proved to be the base of Chinese traditional medicine. Colds, fever, flu and other similar symptoms can be cured by Ephedra. Recent study has shown that Ephedra can promote weight loss and fat burning, relieve retention by promoting urination, increase metabolism, curb appetite, relaxing the lung airways which helps in treating asthma and cough.

But, its side effects like irregular rhythm of the heart and increase in blood pressure made the Food and Drug Authority place a ban on its use in the month of April in 2004. There were mixed reactions from the customers. However, banning Ephedra doesn’t affect traditional herbal remedies made by Chinese and the herbal tea products which contain such elements. Similarly, the usage of ephedrine and pseudo ephedrine supplements.

Ephedra users trying to create ways to avoid the rule alarmed the FDA. After that many copy products came into the market of New York and yet again these copy products were banned by the government officials. But this calling didn’t long as they were shut by a Judge Tena Campbell who was in favor of a supplement company located in Utah. The Nutraceutical Corporation challenged the ban called by FDA telling Ephedra is safe for usage and has been proven by the continuous usage of this in traditional medicine history. FDA had always classified Ephedra as a drug and a food. And because of the failure of FDA being able to show the harms of Ephedra, Judge Campbell removed the ban and allowed its sale in portions of ten mg or less. Hence, Ephedra use was legalized.
Dr. Cathy Wong, a naturopathic physician welcomes the lift of the ban. Deaths on Ephedra are harsh and unnecessary in comparison to fatality rates in pharmaceutical drugs.

Ephedra can help you lose considering that it is used in proper amounts. Even though, FDA took Ephedra as killer drug which has killed many people, many more people are continuing to take it for weight loss. And it has also proved that Ephedra is the most effective.

Ephedra is a great solution for many people. Now, they can wear any apparel of their choice. Thanks to Ephedra, they got he body they dreamt of.

Body Building Workouts That Can Build Muscle Fast

February 24th, 2012

There are known ways to form great muscles, but having a complete body building program is most popular. These common programs will work on your gaining weight primarily then head on to toning your muscles. Body building programs come with a complete set of steps to take in nutrition, weight training, supplementation, and avoiding injuries. The steps you need to take are quite easy and enjoyable to follow which form quite a routine. You only need to be careful about having a personal trainer. You have to make sure that he’s not a hoax and instead a certified professional trainer who won’t give you excess time for additional pay.

There are those who say that homemade is best made. It’s still applicable to losing weight and toning muscles. You can do the best muscle building techniques in the privacy of your home and still get the best results. It’s not necessary that you submit yourself to a grueling trainer and get stuck in a cramped gym environment. You can use common techniques like calisthenics. You can do push-ups, pull-ups and some crunches daily. You can do these with a couple of weight lifting, starting from an empty bar and progressing toward heavier weights. All of these are done in the privacy of your home where you can have peace of mind and comfort.

You will also develop endurance and well-formed muscles when you lift free weights rather than undergo machine exercises. You can use the heaviest weights to give you more stress, and the more stress you have, the more muscles you develop. You have to bear in mind though that dumbbells are not meant for major lifts but more on assistance exercises.

When you have a personal goal of looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s physique, you will have to start from scratch. You will have to start from scratch. Simple and compound exercises that target several muscle groups are perfect to begin with. When you have had a solid foundation you can shift and use isolation exercises. Now it should be self explanatory why this is step by step process.

One thing a person should remember when he wants to be a muscle builder is to have regular squats for leg training. He has to do it as frequently as 1.5 times his body weight. When he does the squat he should do it with his hips lower than his knees. Some people who like to form muscles are working for brawns more than health, but even so, there are reasons why body builders are called health enthusiasts. These people know it by heart that rest, balanced diet, sleep, and drinking enough fresh water are great help in muscle formation than sheer tedious physical exercise without the right sustenance.

The best muscle building technique so far is to gain weight by eating a lot. You might say that this is quite easy except that you will have to do this while taking a lot of protein-rich foods. Skipping breakfast is not allowed. Instead you can follow either of the 7 breakfast recipes to load up on some carbohydrates in the morning. The first and only commandment to remember in body building is persistence. When it feels like you are going to die if you lift those weights, just think of the rewards you will reap, going to the beach clad in your fabulous trunks with everyone drooling at you, for that taut body build.

Fast And Easy Weight Loss Using Diet Programs And Diet Pills

December 25th, 2011

If you’re one of the approximately 67% of Americans that are wired into the internet, there’s a good chance that sometime in the last 24 hours you’ve received at least one spam email promoting the latest and greatest diet pill or weight loss program. These diet products promise fast weight loss results, often without any effort or exercise. The never-ending promise of a weight loss pill that actually works keeps us hoping for eventual success.

At the same time, we’re continually inundated with news of the most recent diet and how this time it’s really going to work for us. The South Beach Diet, the Zone Diet, the Atkins Diet, the Low Carb Diet, the Cabbage Soup Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, the LA Weight Loss Diet, the Weight Watchers Diet, the Diabetic Diet, the Low Cholesterol Diet, the Prescription Pill Diet, the 3 Day Diet, the Low Fat Diet, the High Protein Diet, the Maker Diet, the Liquid Diet, the Grapefruit Diet, the Fad Diet, the Blood Type Diet, the GI Diet, the Vegetarian Diet, the Vegan Diet, the Detox Diet, the Dash Diet, the Candida Diet, the Gluten Free Diet, the Hollywood Diet, the Negative Calorie Diet, the 1200 Calorie Diet, the Raw Food Diet, the Phentermine Diet, the High Fiber Diet, the Macrobiotic Diet, the Science Diet, the Lemonade Diet, the Scarsdale Diet, the Diverticulitis Diet and the Fat Flush Diet are all examples of diet plans that promise to help us achieve quick weight loss.

Crash diets, weight loss pills and get-thin-quick gimmicks are more prevalent than ever, yet two-thirds of our population is still overweight. Even more startling is the fact that approximately one-third of the people in our country are clinically obese.

With all of these ‘solutions’ available to us, why is it that obesity trends have been alarming enough to prompt the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) to label obesity a national epidemic? Why are we still, as a nation, getting fatter? It’s certainly not because we’re not trying.

On the contrary, as a nation we’re trying harder than ever to lose fat through diet and other weight loss products. As reported by CNN on 1-14-05 “Americans were expected to spend more than $40 billion in 2004 on weight control pills, gym memberships, diet plans and related foods, estimates Marketdata Enterprises, which studies the weight loss industry.” Furthermore, statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that 80 percent of overweight individuals and almost 87 percent of obese individuals are trying to lose or maintain their weight.

As reported by mygoals.com, 80 percent of Americans made a New Year’s resolution in 2005. A whopping 26 percent of those resolutions were to improve overall health and fitness, making this the top category for self-improvement. This year was no anomaly, either, according to Amy O’Connor, deputy editor of Prevention magazine: “Fifty-nine million people every year resolve to lose weight.”

So, is there a healthy diet product out there that will actually work? More than likely, the answer is yes. Although there is quite a bit of fraudulent weight loss merchandise on the market today, there is also (somewhere out there) a diet program and weight loss plan that will work for us. The challenge is to find that diet product or diet plan.

-> Repeat Business:

The diet and weight loss industry is a huge money making machine. According to Marketdata Enterprises, the annual revenue for the diet industry was over $30 billion dollars in 1990. A 2005 report by Stanford University documents that the consumer diet industry is now approximately $44 billion and growing. With all this money flowing around, haven’t we as a country spent enough to fix the obesity problem once and for all?

How can the diet industry keep making more and more money, year after year? After all, $44 billion dollars is a lot of cash! The answer to that question is simple: repeat business. “98% of today’s dieters gain the weight back in 5 years. 90% of those individuals end up gaining back more than they lost originally, due to the body’s panic and efforts to stabilize metabolic rates over the long term” (Source: Stanford University; stanford.edu).

How do the diet-promoters get all that repeat business? The diet industry is a very unique enterprise in that, when it fails someone, they rarely blame the product. We are hard-pressed to find another business where, if the product doesn’t work, we blame ourselves. All too often, after giving up on yet another diet program, we find ourselves thinking “Well, I guess I’m just not a good enough dieter.” The tendency is for us to believe that we failed the diet rather than the other way around.

Apply this same logic to the automotive industry, and it soon becomes clear just how faulty this line of reasoning really is. What would happen if we take our car in to the mechanic for repairs and when we returned to pick it up he told us that although we still had to pay the bill, he was unable to fix the problem? Would we willing pay the bill anyway and just say “Oh well, I guess it’s just a bad car?” Of course not! That would be ridiculous! But that’s exactly what we do when it comes to diets.

-> One Size Does Not Fit All:

What we need to realize is that there is probably a weight loss product or weight loss plan out there that will work for us, but it may not be the same one our friends or co-workers used. To find the best weight loss program for us, we absolutely must realize that one size does not fit all. What worked for our sibling or spouse may not work for us, and what works for us may not work for them.

It’s probably safe to say that any diet supplement has helped somebody, but it’s also true that no weight loss drug or plan has helped everybody. Each person has a unique metabolism and very individual nutritional needs, so no single plan will work for everyone.

-> How To Find The Right Weight Loss Diet:

Some fat burner products on the market today do indeed work. Others are a complete rip-off. How do you tell the difference? Where do you go for accurate and reliable weight loss information?

First and foremost, talk with your doctor. Your own personal physician is likely to be honest with you and provide you with the facts. In addition, he or she can help you decide which weight loss supplement may be right for your personal situation.

There are also quite a few reputable organizations that provide accurate information on fat loss. Some of the better resources include:
* American Cancer Society – www.cancer.org
* Centers For Disease Control – www.cdc.gov
* Diet Scam Watch – www.dietscam.org
* Calories Per Hour – www.caloriesperhour.com
* Harvard Medical School – www.health.harvard.edu
* Mayo Clinic – www.mayoclinic.org
* Shape Up America – www.shapeup.org
* Calorie Control Council – www.caloriecontrol.org
* President’s Council On Physical Fitness – www.fitness.gov

When seeking a healthy weight loss plan, it’s important that no food be strictly forbidden. There should not be any (or many) foods that we avoid completely 100% of the time. Why? Because that sets us up for failure! For example, if fudge is one of our favorites and we force ourselves to NOT eat fudge at the holiday party, then for many of us what we’ve done is set ourselves up for a binge fudge-festival.

Avoiding our favorite foods entirely is a too much self-deprivation for most people, and this sets us up for binge-eating. That’s a recipe for disaster!

A much better approach is to enjoy foods in moderation. Watch those serving sizes! Enjoy and savor one piece of fudge! It’s better to enjoy one piece of fudge and then stop than attempt to deprive ourselves entirely, only to end up eating the whole pan.

A good diet and nutrition program will also help us keep in mind the cost of the foods we eat. We’re not talking about dollars and cents here, but the FITNESS cost of the food. When picking up that fudge, keep in mind what it will cost to enjoy it. When picking up a plate at the buffet table, let’s take a moment to pause and think to ourselves: “The cost of this fudge will be an extra _____ minutes of exercise…..is that worth it to me?” Maybe. Maybe not. That’s for each of us to decide on our own.

The point is that we should be conscious of our food decisions. No foods are forbidden entirely, but we do need to watch our portion sizes and carefully consider the cost of each food. Any good weight management program will incorporate these concepts and also will be approved by your doctor.

-> How To Find The Right Weight Loss Supplement:

Perhaps even more so than with weight loss diets, when searching for weight loss supplements it is critical to rely on the advice of your physician. The careful and supervised use of weight loss diet pills, combined with a sensible diet and regular exercise, can lead to quick weight loss and even easy weight loss (or at least easier than you expected).

Beware, however, the supplement scams on the market. It seems that every time we turn around we are blasted and bombarded with the latest, greatest, new and improved treatment for obesity. The gimmicks just keep coming. The sad truth is that few of these products work. Even fewer will result in real, permanent and lasting fat loss. A very few of the weight loss gimmicks on the market today are not only a consumer rip-off, but they are also quite dangerous…..even deadly.

As an example, consider the prescription diet drug Meridia. Does it help you lose weight? For some people, the answer is yes. For others, the answer is no. Can it kill you? The answer to this question seems to be a nervous ‘maybe’. “The consumer group Public Citizen had petitioned the Food and Drug Administration for a ban, citing Meridia users who died of heart problems as young as their 20s and 30s. Even before Meridia was approved for sale, the FDA knew it could increase users’ blood pressure, the group contended.” (Source: cnn.com)

This week the FDA again refused to ban Meridia, even though whistleblower David Graham (an FDA drug safety officer) testified to Congress last fall that his agency was allowing five unsafe medicines to stay on the market, including Meridia.

Another example of a dangerous weight loss drug is ephedra. Ephedra was banned in the United States last year, in part due to numerous deaths attributed to this popular weight loss supplement. On April 14 2005, a federal Judge in Utah reversed the short-lived ban on ephedra. Within minutes, spammers were filling our email boxes with messages to BUY BUY BUY before ephedra was banned again.

Yes, ephedra will help some people lose weight. Yes, ephedra is safe for some people in low doses. But there is that little nagging fact that people have DIED and that their deaths have been attributed to ephedra use…..

Yet another example of a dangerous diet drug is steroids. For whatever reason, some people have decided that anabolic steroids are the best way to lose weight. Despite the well-documented and serious side-effects of steroid use, the lure of easy weight loss has caused many to throw caution to the wind. Perhaps the most concerning trend is steroid use among our teenage population: “Teens also listed steroids, growth hormone, amino acids and other potentially unhealthful products among those they’d tried in the previous year.” (Source: cnn.com)

There do exist, however, some diet supplements that work and are also quite safe. Again, it is never a good idea to begin any supplementation program without first seeking the advice and approval of your doctor.

Three popular and dependable fat loss products designed to help you lose weight fast are ChromeMate, Lipotropic Plus and Super L-Carnitine.

Chromium helps insulin metabolize fat, turn protein into muscle and convert sugar into energy. ChromeMate, a unique form of niacin-bound chromium, is designed to optimize energy output. It accomplishes this by increasing the amount of glucose available for energy production nearly twenty-fold. It also is the “master” nutrient for controlling blood sugar, which in turn curbs sugar cravings. What’s more, a study at Auburn University showed that ChromeMate reduced LDL cholesterol by an average of 14%. In fact, ChromeMate has been awarded a patent for lowering cholesterol.

The Lipotropic Plus Formula is scientifically-engineered to assist in the breakdown, distribution and burning (oxidation) of fatty acids. The active ingredients actually accelerate the fat-burning process by breaking down fat cells into smaller particles (emulsification) to be used for fuel during exercise.

Super L-Carnitine is essential for fat burning. I.B. Fritz and K.T.N. Yue, physiologists from the University of Michigan, discovered that Carnitine actually accelerates fat-burning. Without it, fat is unable to penetrate the walls of the mitochondria of the muscle cells. Carnitine is the shuttle that carries fat into your body’s furnaces (muscles) to be burned for energy. Super L-Carnitine increases the rate of fat utilization for fuel.

-> Weight Loss Exercise:

In this article we’ve been discussing weight loss diets and weight loss supplements. At this point it is essential that we add the third and most important component of overall health and fitness: exercise.

Exercise is one weight loss method that has never been banned, has never led to an investigation, and has never been been listed on a ‘whistleblower’ fraud report.

Exercise is the only path to health and fitness that virtually every doctor in the world agrees upon. Exercise is safe, effective, and brings many more benefits to our lives than diets or drugs ever will alone. Exercise is fun, invigorating, motivating and the single most powerful way to improve our life and well-being!

Yes, it’s quite possible to lose weight without participating in regular exercise. However, diet and exercise combined will help us burn fat faster than we thought possible! Weight loss achieved by regular exercise and diet will be healthy weight loss because of all the benefits we obtain from regular exercise:

1. Strengthens muscles
2. Strengthens bone
3. Strengthens ligaments
4. Strengthens tendons
5. Strengthens immune system
6. Improves muscle tone
7. Improves endurance
8. Improves strength
9. Improves self esteem
10. Improves confidence
11. Improves balance
12. Improves physical appearance
13. Improves physical performance
14. Improves glucose tolerance
15. Improves circulation
16. Improves memory
17. Lower risk of heart disease
18. Lower risk of diabetes
19. Lower risk of cancer
20. Lower blood pressure
21. Lower cholesterol
22. Lower risk of stroke
23. Lower risk of osteoporosis
24. Lower risk of osteoarthritis
25. Lower requirements for medication
26. Lower risk of injury
27. Lower bodyfat
28. Helps with sleep disorders
29. Reduces post-operative complications
30. Reduces frequency of illness
31. Prevent Alzheimer’s disease
32. Prevents muscle loss
33. Increases metabolism
34. Eases symptoms of menopause
35. Healthier pregnancy
36. Fewer problems with childbirth
37. Reduces ovulation problems
38. Prevents heartburn

Reaching your ideal weight via a healthy and active lifestyle has been found to lower health risks and medical problems in 90 percent of overweight patients. In addition to the exercise benefits listed above, fit people are eight times less likely to die from cancer than the unfit, and 53 percent less likely to die from other diseases. Fit people are also eight times less likely to die from heart disease.

Without a doubt, regular exercise is the most important piece of the puzzle and the best way to achieve rapid weight loss. Exercise is the safest way to achieve permanent fat loss, and when combined with a sound diet and nutrition program the body is turned into a virtual fat-burning furnace!

-> Conclusion:

Fast weight loss is possible if we, under the supervision and approval of our doctor, combine a sensible diet with a diet pill or weight loss pill that is safe and effective. When we combine these three fat-burning strategies it is almost guaranteed that we will experience quick weight loss results.

One Exercises Workouts to Burn Belly Fat and Lose Weight Fast!

June 27th, 2011

Training for fat loss has surely evolved over the past decade. For years the first thing most fat loss seekers have done is jump on the treadmill and do hours of endurance training with no results to speak of. In fact, it has been scientifically proven time and time again that aerobic training alone for fat loss just doesn’t work.

So what does work? A combination of total body resistance training workouts and cardio interval training has been proven in both the lab and in the gym to be the ultimate one-two fat burning punch for twice the results in less than half the time when compared to the primitive, outdated aerobic training approach to weight loss.

Now, what exactly is a total body resistance training workout? Well, there are many ways to skin a cat but for our purposes a total body workout means that you have effectively worked you upper body, lower body, and core within the same workout.

Now, am I saying that you need to perform three separate exercises each and every workout to get that total body effect? Not exactly, in fact I am about to share with you today a rather revolutionary approach to fat loss training that truly simplifies the process on the user’s end. Essentially I am going to teach you how to do ONE exercise total body workouts using combination exercises to burn belly fat fast!

A combination exercise is where you take one exercise and combine it with one or more exercises. The whole idea here is to get more muscles involved to burn calories (and fat) in the shortest amount of time possible. After all, the key to any successful fat loss workout is escalating density, or the accumulation of more work in the same amount of time or less from workout to workout. So, total body workouts are great, but why not turbo charge your results by using total body exercises within your total body workouts.

For example, let’s say you are doing a dumbbell lunge to work your lower body. The lunge is a unilateral knee-dominant exercise which when performed correctly dramatically increases single-leg strength and stability and is a key movement pattern to teaching your body how to decelerate or efficiently stop and go on command. Well if you add a dumbbell curl to press at the end of each lunge, you would transform this exercise from a great lower body exercise to an even better TOTAL body exercise by simultaneously involving your upper body. The curl to press is in itself a combination upper body movement that works both pull-push components at the same time. Plus, your core is the link between all integrated upper and lower body movements so any time you perform an upper-lower body combo exercise your core automatically gets called into action. In other words, choose the right exercise and it’s one and your done!

So, now let’s show you how to make use of this single total body exercise for a simple, yet brutally effective five to ten minute fat loss workout:

One Exercise Workout#1- DB Lunge + Curl to Press

- Select one dumbbell (in general, 8-15+ lbs for women and 15-30+ lbs for men works great)

- Perform max reps for time in 5-10 minutes, only taking brief 5-20 sec rest periods as needed when speed slows and/or technique/form is jeopardized

- Once you can perform at least 5-10 reps per minute, seek to increase the weight by 2-5 lbs per dumbbell

This is all made possible because each leg gets just enough rest as you alternate legs on each lunge and your upper body gets just enough rest while you reset and perform each lunge before the next curl to press. Plus, you are using the same piece of equipment in one place without the need to move to another exercise or station. Yep, that’s called making the most out of every available second to melt off that ugly, unwanted body fat as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Now, if this sounds easy, let me personally guarantee you that it certainly is not. Many noted fitness professionals like Charles Staley and Alwyn Cosgrove refer to this type of workout as Escalating Density Training (EDT) and have used it with their diverse clientele with great success. Just like every trainer has a different name for every exercise, so do I have a different name for this type of training. I refer to it as Continuous Work because you are literally performing the same total body exercise continuously for 5-10 straight minutes. My many boot camp and corporate clients have a definite love-hate relationship with these workouts. Love because of the intensity and hate… well, because of the intensity!

Here are three more great “One Exercise Workout” examples that you can do anywhere:

One Exercise Workout#2- 1-Arm DB Squat to Press

- Select one dumbbell (in general, 8-15+ lbs for women and 15-30+ lbs for men works great)

- 1 Round = Perform 10 total reps/side

- Perform max rounds for time in 5-10 minutes, only taking brief 5-20 sec rest periods as needed when speed slows and/or technique/form is jeopardized

- Once you can perform at least 1 round per minute, seek to increase the weight by 2-5 lbs per dumbbell

One Exercise Workout#3- 1-Arm DB Swing

- Select one dumbbell (in general, 8-15+ lbs for women and 15-30+ lbs for men works great)

- 1 Round = Perform 10 total reps/side

- Perform max rounds for time in 5-10 minutes, only taking brief 5-20 sec rest periods as needed when speed slows and/or technique/form is jeopardized

- Once you can perform at least 1 round per minute, seek to increase the weight by 2-5 lbs per dumbbell

One Exercise Workout#4- Killer Variation: DB Squat Thrust + Push-up + Core Row + Knee-Ins

Well there it is, four great “One Exercise Workouts” involving total body combination exercises that you can do in 5-10 minutes at home or on the road when traveling. Now if you really wanted to ramp up your results with a full 20-minute workout, try selecting two of the total body exercises above and then doing two separate 10-minute workouts or selecting all four of the total body exercises above and then doing four separate 5-minute workouts. And for those of you hardcore lifters, try adding in these short, but sweet 5-10 minute workouts as finishers for a great metabolic boost to end each training session. It will go a long way to helping you stay lean year round.

In this article, you will find some suggestions for fast diets that work to give you more options if you are planning to lose a couple of pounds before your reunion or your next holiday. Whilst it is correct that many diets will focus on calories coming in and out of the body, there are some dieting approaches which will enable you to lose weight faster than others.

Here are some fast diets for weight loss

Most of the following diet solutions can be regarded as low carb diets, which is actually easier in theory, since carbohydrates sourced from breads, cookies, crackers, certain vegetables like potatoes and more. Lowering carbohydrates implies that you should give up eating breads and fast food outlets.

Zone Diet: When it comes to theory, the body gets into a zone when you consume 40% carbohydrates; 30% proteins and 30% fats. It is important to make use of a zone diet calculator online, but the benefits will allegedly involve much better hormone balance. Popular zone diet food items consist of blueberry pancakes, eggs and certain kinds of beef and stews.

South Beach Diet: This one of the many diets with lower carb and includes reducing your carbohydrate consumption by eating food items such as chicken breasts, eggs, sea bass, tomatoes, strawberries, special herbs, broccoli, milk, tomatoes and spinach.

Atkins Diet: Eliminating bad carbohydrates, this may be difficult on the body in the beginning but will become easier after a while. You will get rid of the weight fast during the early stage, although the weight is likely to come back once you stop the diet regime.

Cabbage Soup Diet: Consuming cabbage soup in addition to certain foods daily for one week, which includes fruits with the exception of bananas for the initial day; vegetables the second day; vegetables and fruits the third; several bananas the fourth day and so on. Given that cabbage soup will be lower in calories, it is possible to lose weight during the week.

Remember that not every doctors, dietitians and scientists agree with how balanced a few of the diets indicated above will be, so it is best to speak to your doctor to get advice before starting any of the diet regimens.

In general, shedding weight rapidly is often harmful. Whilst getting rid of some weight in order to wear your favorite jeans to your school reunion is common for many, if you need to lose weight, maintain energy and live healthy it is best to start with moderate exercises; eat a advantageous diet, drink a lot of water; take your vitamins and make changes to your lifestyle.
